We are looking for someone who is technically minded and curious to help us make our VAs smarter and more effective. In this role, you will improve the performance of our VAs; develop AI algorithms; design, build and experiment with AI models; and automate internal processes. You should have strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in machine learning and software development, and enjoy solving problems.

What you will be responsible for

As a Data Scientist, you will: 
  • Design and implement AI projects involving Natural Language Processing (NLP), Natural Language Understanding (NLU), Machine Learning (ML), and algorithmic or statistical approaches 
  • Research, experiment with and evaluate different approaches, analyse results, and apply findings to improve our AI solutions 
  • Monitor and optimise our VAs by analysing performance, understanding user interactions and applying improvements 
  • Develop and maintain data processing pipelines to collect, transform and augment datasets for machine learning applications 
  • Write well-documented and unit-tested code and tools for EBO’s internal libraries 
  • Build tools and automation to improve internal processes 

What we expect

  • A degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field, with coursework or experience in AI and machine learning 
  • Strong Python programming skills, including experience with common libraries used for data processing, analysis, machine learning and visualisation 
  • Working knowledge of Jupyter Notebooks or similar tools to experiment, analyse and present results 
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable and unit-tested Python code, following established programming style guides and documentation standards 
  • Experience working with Git or similar version control systems 
  • Experience working with SQL databases 
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English
Working knowledge of Microsoft DevOps and Azure, and experience with Natural Language Understanding (NLU) tools like Microsoft CLU is a plus but not required.
