1. Net Zero Commitment

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd commits to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 1 June 2036 across its UK operations and material supply chain emissions, in alignment with NHS England Net Zero ambitions and supplier expectations.

For the purpose of this Carbon Reduction Plan, Net Zero means achieving at least a 90% absolute reduction in emissions by 2050 at the latest. EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s 2036 target is earlier than the minimum 2050 requirement. The use of offsets will be considered only as a last resort for residual emissions that cannot reasonably be eliminated and will not replace direct emissions reduction activity.

2. Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of greenhouse gases produced before the introduction of targeted reduction measures. EBO.ai (UK) Ltd has not previously published a Carbon Reduction Plan in this format. EBO.ai (UK) Ltd has therefore used its first reporting period as its baseline year.

Baseline year: 2026

Baseline reporting period: 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2026

Additional Details Relating to Baseline Emissions Calculations

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd is a software and AI services company. Its emissions profile is materially different from a manufacturing, logistics or physical goods supplier. EBO.ai (UK) Ltd does not operate industrial facilities, does not manufacture physical goods, does not run a vehicle fleet and does not maintain customer facing distribution operations.

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s organisational emissions arise primarily from limited office use, purchased technology and cloud services, business travel, employee commuting assumptions, waste generated in operations and purchased services.

For this first Carbon Reduction Plan, EBO.ai (UK) Ltd has used an indicative organisational carbon intensity calculation of 21.50 tCO2e. This figure will be refined in future reporting periods as EBO.ai (UK) Ltd improves source level data collection for travel, cloud services, employee commuting, purchased services and office energy use.

Emissions are reported in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, tCO2e. Scope 1, Scope 2 and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been considered. Where an emissions category is not applicable to EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s operating model, this is stated.

4. Carbon Reduction Measures Implemented

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd has already implemented a range of carbon reduction measures that reflect the nature of its digital service delivery model and its role as a supplier to NHS organisations. These measures focus on minimising direct emissions, reducing energy consumption and enabling low carbon ways of working, while maintaining service quality, information security and resilience.

4.1 Remote First Workforce Model

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd operates a remote first workforce model as standard. Staff are not required to commute daily to a central office location, reducing emissions associated with routine travel.

Business travel is minimised and only undertaken where it is essential to service delivery, clinical engagement, governance, implementation assurance or contractual obligations. This approach reduces Scope 3 emissions and supports staff wellbeing through flexible working practices.

4.2 Cloud First and Energy Efficient Infrastructure

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd delivers its services through modern, scalable cloud infrastructure rather than customer hosted on premises servers or dedicated physical infrastructure.

Cloud providers are selected based on performance, security, resilience and their published commitments to renewable energy sourcing and carbon reduction. This model avoids unnecessary on site hosting, reduces energy waste and enables efficient scaling without additional customer infrastructure.

4.3 Digital Only Internal Operations

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd operates digital internal processes wherever possible, including documentation, collaboration, contracting, service reporting, customer governance and internal approvals.

Paper use is minimised and printing is avoided as standard practice. This reduces material consumption, waste generation and emissions associated with paper manufacture, transport and disposal.

4.4 Low-Carbon Delivery and Support Model

Implementation, onboarding, training and ongoing support for NHS customers are delivered remotely as standard using secure digital tools.

Where onsite presence is required by exception, travel is planned efficiently, kept to a minimum and aligned to clear service or contractual need.

4.5 System-Level Carbon Avoidance for NHS Customers

In addition to reducing its own emissions, EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s products can support downstream carbon avoidance for NHS organisations by digitising patient engagement, reducing paper correspondence, reducing postal logistics and helping avoid unnecessary patient travel.

These avoided emissions do not form part of EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s organisational carbon footprint. However, they represent a meaningful contribution to NHS Net Zero objectives and may be measured and reported at contract level where appropriate.

By way of contract level illustration, previous EBO.ai (UK) Ltd carbon modelling estimated that automation of 100,600 patient enquiries, where 20% would otherwise have involved an estimated 7 km car journey and 10% would otherwise have involved paper or postage, could avoid approximately 27,091.58 kgCO2e, equivalent to 27.09 tCO2e. This avoided emissions modelling will be treated separately from EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s organisational footprint.

5. Carbon Reduction Measures Planned

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd is committed to continuous improvement and will strengthen its carbon reduction approach over the lifetime of this Carbon Reduction Plan, in line with NHS England expectations and the Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment.

5.1 Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd will complete and maintain the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment where required or appropriate, targeting Evergreen Level 2 or above within the lifespan of NHS contracts.

This will include structured reporting of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and proportionate coverage of relevant Scope 3 emissions. Progress will be reviewed periodically and evidence made available to NHS customers on request.

5.2 Enhanced Emissions Measurement and Reporting

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd will continue to improve the accuracy and completeness of emissions data, particularly in relation to Scope 3 categories such as cloud services, purchased services, business travel and employee commuting.

Emissions calculations will use the UK Government Greenhouse Gas Conversion Factors applicable for the reporting year, ensuring consistency with NHS and central government reporting standards.

5.3 Supplier Engagement and Procurement

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd will prioritise suppliers and partners that demonstrate credible sustainability commitments, including published Net Zero targets, carbon reduction plans or equivalent environmental policies.

Where feasible, sustainability considerations will form part of supplier selection and review, proportionate to the size, materiality and risk of the engagement.

5.4 Continued Reduction in Travel Related Emissions

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd will maintain its remote first delivery and support model and continue to reduce business travel wherever possible through digital collaboration tools.

Travel will only be undertaken where it is essential and where there is a clear service, governance, clinical, operational or contractual requirement.

5.5 Integration with NHS Contract Governance

For NHS contracts, EBO.ai (UK) Ltd will embed sustainability and carbon reduction considerations into standard contract governance processes.

This includes periodic review of relevant sustainability indicators such as digital uptake, paper reduction, correspondence digitisation, avoided administrative activity and avoided travel where these are relevant to the service being delivered.

This approach ensures that carbon reduction is not treated as a standalone exercise but is integrated into service delivery and continuous improvement.

6. Net Zero Trajectory

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd will work towards its Net Zero target date of 1 June 2036 through ongoing efficiency improvements, supplier engagement, service design optimisation and improved emissions reporting.

Using the 2026 baseline of 21.50 tCO2e, EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s indicative reduction trajectory is as follows:

Target year

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd will review progress annually and update this trajectory where improved emissions data, business growth, operational change or NHS requirements make this appropriate.

7. Governance

Senior leadership holds responsibility for delivery and annual review of this Carbon Reduction Plan.

EBO.ai (UK) Ltd will appoint a senior Net Zero lead for relevant NHS contracts where required. Sustainability and carbon reduction matters may be reviewed through contract governance meetings, service reviews or customer reporting processes where proportionate to the contract.

This Carbon Reduction Plan will be reviewed and updated at least annually and within six months of EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s financial year end, or earlier where there is a material change to EBO.ai (UK) Ltd’s operations, reporting methodology or applicable NHS requirements.
