Who we're looking for
We are looking for a technical and creative problem-solver to support us in enhancing our Virtual Agents (VAs). In this role, you will improve the performance of our VAs, automate internal processes and work on data science projects to augment our VAs' capabilities. You should have exceptional critical thinking skills, deep knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning methods, and a background in programming.

What you will be responsible for
As a Data Scientist, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Monitor our VAs to identify opportunities for improvement
- Train our VAs to improve their performance and comprehension
- Collect data and apply augmentation techniques to build task-specific datasets
- Design, implement and evaluate data science projects involving Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML) and statistical analysis
- Conduct and present data analyses, including statistical analyses, to understand VA usage and inform business decisions
- Write scripts to automate processes
- Contribute well-documented and unit-tested code to EBO’s internal libraries
What we expect
The most critical requirement is culture fit. If you have the right attitude, we'll invest in you and help you grow in the role. Nevertheless, these qualifications and experience are also desirable:
- A degree in Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence
- Technical background in Python, including common libraries used for data engineering, analysis, science and visualisation
- Working knowledge of Jupyter Notebooks to write and present data analyses
- Ability to follow programming style guides, common documentation standards and automated testing methodologies
- Experience working with Git or similar version control systems
- Experience working with SQL databases
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English
- Working knowledge of Microsoft DevOps and Azure, and experience with Natural Language Understanding (NLU) tools like Microsoft's CLU is a plus but not required
