Financial Services Director

We are looking for a commercially strong sales leader with experience selling technology solutions into regulated financial services organisations. The ideal candidate has a proven record in new business, account growth, renewals, and strategic partnership development, and is comfortable engaging senior stakeholders across banking, insurance, and forex. Experience in SaaS, AI, automation, or digital transformation is strongly preferred.

About the Role

EBO is continuing to strengthen its focus within the Financial Services sector and is seeking a candidate to drive sales growth, build a strong pipeline, and support the ongoing development of EBO’s presence in this market.

Role Functions

The primary job functions include:

  • Sales Strategy Development and Execution: Formulate and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aimed at banks, insurance companies, and forex clients to drive the adoption of EBO’s AI solutions.
  • Revenue Target Achievement: Take ownership of and meet agreed-upon revenue targets, ensuring consistent growth and profitability.
  • Upselling and Account Expansion: Identify and pursue opportunities to upsell within existing accounts, enhancing client engagement and increasing the value delivered.
  • Product Offering Expansion: Recognise opportunities to broaden EBO’s product offerings within the financial services sector by understanding evolving client needs and positioning suitable solutions.
  • Customer Advocacy: Act as the voice of the customer, providing structured feedback to the Product team to enhance the platform. Represent EBO at industry events, conferences, and networking activities.
  • Renewal Sales Management: Lead the renewal sales cycle from the proposal stage through to contract execution, ensuring client retention and satisfaction.
  • Collaboration with Solution Delivery Team: Work closely with the Solution Delivery team to implement strategies that deepen product usage, improve customer engagement, and maximise client outcomes.
  • Develop Partnerships: Grow EBO’s partnerships to deliver success.
  • Geographic Scope: Current activity is centred in Malta, Cyprus/Greece, London, and the UAE. The successful candidate will be expected to reassess and expand territory focus. Occasional travel will be required.
  • Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the CEO. Works closely with the CTO and Head of Marketing to support execution and growth.

Role Requirements 

  1. Proven track record in enterprise B2B sales, business development, or commercial leadership within financial services, SaaS, automation, AI, or related technology sectors.
  2. Demonstrable experience selling to banks, insurers, forex firms, or other regulated financial institutions, with a strong understanding of how such organisations buy, govern, and implement technology.
  3. Evidence of meeting or exceeding meaningful revenue targets, with the ability to build pipeline, close new business, grow existing accounts, and manage renewals.
  4. Strong consultative sales capability, able to understand client pain points, translate them into commercial opportunities, and position complex solutions clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
  5. Experience in strategic account development, including upsell, cross sell, partner led growth, and long term account expansion.
  6. Confidence engaging with senior decision makers such as Chief Risk Officers, Heads of Operations, Chief Compliance Officers, CIOs, CTOs, and commercial leads.
  7. Strong presentation and external representation skills, including participation in events, conferences, and industry networking.
  8. Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation skills, and contract management capability from proposal stage to close and renewal.
  9. Fluent spoken and written English.
