David Muscat joins EBO to lead Financial Services growth

“AI isn’t a silver bullet. Sometimes the right solution is just a better process. But where AI is the right fit, it can be transformative. The important thing is to approach it thoughtfully and choose the right partner, someone who understands your goals and can support you through every stage.”

We’re thrilled to welcome David Muscat to the EBO team as our new Financial Services Director!

With over a decade of experience in the financial services world, David brings deep expertise across strategic sales, partnerships, and customer success. His background spans fintech, banking, insurance, and iGaming, making him perfectly placed to lead EBO’s ambitious growth in these sectors.

At EBO, David is focusing on helping organisations streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer engagement by harnessing the power of AI. But before we look to the future, we sat down with David to hear more about his journey and how he sees AI shaping the industry in the years to come.

A career built in fast-growth financial services

When asked about his journey so far, David explained that he’s spent over ten years building a career within the financial services sector, taking on roles across technology, product, pre-sales, and customer experience.

“Most recently I was VP of Client Success and Operations at Weavr, a company pioneering embedded banking. Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to scale-ups, especially those at a pivotal moment in their growth. These are the companies where you can really roll up your sleeves, make decisions that move the needle, and help shape something from the ground up.”

Joining EBO: A natural move into AI

David’s background in engineering first sparked his interest in Artificial Intelligence. So when the opportunity to join EBO came up, it felt like a logical next step.

“I’d been following EBO for some time and always admired the leadership team and the company’s approach to growth—measured, thoughtful, and values-driven. With my long-standing interest in AI and experience in financial services, this role brings everything together.”

Why experience matters in regulated sectors

Having worked across fintech, insurance, banking and iGaming, David brings valuable insight into the unique challenges and compliance demands of regulated industries.

“I’ve seen first-hand how automation and AI can help organisations improve efficiency, reduce risk, and deliver better outcomes for their customers. Because I understand the nuances of these sectors, I can work closely with clients to identify the right use cases and ensure AI is implemented effectively and responsibly.”

What to expect in his new role

As Director of Financial Services, David will focus on growing EBO’s impact across the sector, supporting clients at every stage of their AI journey.

“Our goal is to be the trusted AI partner for regulated industries. That means delivering not only great technology but also practical solutions that create measurable value. It’s also about building strong relationships, grounded in transparency, trust, and long-term support.”

A turning point for AI in financial services

AI presents powerful opportunities for financial services, especially in areas such as onboarding, customer support, fraud detection and claims management. But David believes the key is to start small and stay strategic.

“You don’t have to overhaul everything at once. Even automating common FAQs, card services, or claims processing can have a big impact, freeing up teams and improving the customer experience.”

Looking ahead

David’s arrival signals a new chapter in EBO’s growth within the financial services sector. His practical experience, deep sector knowledge, and passion for innovation make him a valuable addition to the team.
